An Act of Kindness

I have recently had the privilege of precepting a nursing student for the past several weeks.  I learned that she had suffered a miscarriage in the past and has made blankets to give to others who experience such a loss.  I never realized how many couples experience loss whether it be miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, etc.  I think these types of losses are more common than we may think but many people don't speak about their experiences.  I personally have suffered two miscarriages prior to losing Gage.  I am grateful that I have been able to share my story and have heard the story of so many others.  Helping others and knowing that other people have had similar experiences has helped me in my healing process.

My nursing student wanted to help our organization and donated a bag full of preemie blankets to be added to our kits.  I am so grateful for her kindness!  I look forward to making and donating more kits to families.  Remember any donation big or small can help us make a big difference.

Happy Birthday Gage!

I can't believe it's been a year since we were blessed with our perfect little boy Gage.  We only had 3 short days with him here on earth but we look forward to seeing and being with him once again.  Gage made a huge impact on many lives in his short stay.  I am so proud to be his mom and wish every day that he were here with me.  I think of all the milestones I missed...his first smile, his laugh, sitting, crawling, standing, etc.  I am proud that we are able to keep his memory alive and that his short life has and will make an impact in the lives of others for years to come.  I wish Gage was here to celebrate his 1st birthday but I know he is in a better place and I'm sure birthdays are so much better in heaven! Happy Birthday baby boy, we love you.

Donation to St. Joseph's Hospital

We officially donated our first set of kits to St. Joseph's Hospital today! I am so grateful for all of the support we have received. I am glad that our kits will finally start helping families in need.  If you know of any facilities or organizations that could use our kits, please let us know.

Putting it all together...

I've been working on assembling kits this week. I am excited to get them donated. I am anxiously waiting to hear back from a few facilities. I truly hope that they will help other families. I am so grateful for all of the items donated and for all of the help I have received in making this a reality. Thank you to Carol Woollam for buying and donating the majority of the fabric that was used to make the remainder of blankets and bags for our first donation.

Remembrance Jewelry

This is a link to a blog post from a woman who has lost a child. Someone made her this necklace with a photo of her child on the front along with a bible verse on the back. The woman who who made the necklace is willing to make these for bereaved parents for approximately $18.00 each. If you're interested, check out this blog post for additional information.
